Privacy policy
Through the crack in the bamboo wall, Livia watched, her nerves taut and trembling. All day, since their late waking, bleary and sodden, from their debauch of the night before, the black people had prepared the feast for the coming night. All day Conan the Cimmerian had sat in the hut of Bajujh, and what had passed between them, Livia could not know.
This is an immensely simple privacy policy that exists for full transparency.
All user data is stored and backed up on hardware privately owned by the server admin, except where otherwise stated. User data is NOT stored on an encrypted partition or otherwise encrypted, except where otherwise stated. The server admin is the sole person with digital access to the servers operated by The Thin Veneer.
The game server and web server are hosted in Belgium. Back-ups are made to hardware in the Netherlands.
Chat logs
Messages sent in local, global and guild chat are logged and kept for approximately 6 months, then deleted. They are not backed up anywhere. Messages sent in private channels are handled by the server, but not logged. Snippets of chat logs may be shared with moderators for moderation purposes.
Tickets
The contents of tickets are stored and kept indefinitely. They are stored by Ticket King, and duplicates of whitelisting applications are stored by Discord. Their data and privacy policies also apply.

The game’s logs
No changes are made to the way that Conan Exiles outputs its logs. The most pertinent logs are:
- When you connect and disconnect.
- Your Steam (or other store) ID.
- Your Funcom ID.
- Your IP address.
The logs are kept for approximately 6 months, then deleted. They are not backed up anywhere.
The game world
(Almost) everything you do in-game is ultimately handled by the game server. Pertinent to you, the database contains your character’s name, appearance, game statistics, and your clan’s builds.
Back-ups of the game database are made with high frequency. Not all back-ups are permanently archived, but the oldest archive is four years old. When an archive is older than that, it will be pruned.
The back-ups are stored off-site in the Netherlands and encrypted.
Your game and mod settings (including your Tot ! Custom directories) are NOT handled or stored by us.
This website
We store no information about anyone visiting this website. Logs which include your IP address and user agent may be enabled to troubleshoot problems. Such logs will be kept no longer than approximately 6 months, then deleted. They are not backed up anywhere.
The system for the web server is a VPS provided by Behostings in Belgium, operated by The Thin Veneer.
